A Few of My Favorite Things

It's a little dreary in New York this morning so I think I little shopping might be in order today but before I go, I thought I would tell you about a few of my new favorite things. Enjoy!

J. Crew Enamel Bracelets - These bracelets are fabulous and affordable! Plus, they come in a rainbow of colors. I wore two orange and one purple 1/4 in. size bracelets together the other day and everyone loved them. My friend Phillip called them my Faux-mes bracelets after Hermes. Definitely check them out!

KA7 Wool Jacket - It's supposed to be very chilly tomorrow and I can't wait to wear this jacket. It's so luxuriously soft and stylish and looks great with jeans. I bought it the warm beige color but I could only find an example in black online but I think Banana Republic has a very similar jacket.

Citizens of Humanity Hutton Jeans - I am so happy that skinny jeans are out this season because it means I have more jean options and I LOVE these from Citizens. I can wear jeans to work and this pair looks stylish and professional with the higher rise, darker wash and trouser hem.

Nars Chinatown Nail Polish - I started transitioning to fall weeks ago and one of my first steps is to change from neutral polish on my toes to Nars Chinatown polish, a really deep dark red. It's my signature color for fall/winter and looks great peeking out of a pair of peep toe pumps.

Deluxe: How Luxury Lost It's Luster - Everyone is talking about this book and for good reason. It's a behind the curtain look at how the luxury industry operates that will leave you impressed, amazed, and outraged. I can't put it down!

Green Fig Home Ambiance Perfume by Antica Farmacista - I am obsessed with the smell of figs. I have every fig candle ever made and just recently found this green fig room fragrance that is the perfect unisex scent for fall, especially since figs are in season now.

*I'm not sure everyone realized this but if you click on the orange titles, it's a link to the product online. I guess I should have mentioned this earlier. My bad!

I tore out that same page of the J. Crew catalogue - those bracelets are fabulous. I'm on the hunt for the jeans, they sound like just the thing.

Thanks Sarah! I know you will love the Green Fig Home perfume too!

I also left a suggestion on your post. Hope it helped!

Brilliant Asylum, you have to read Deluxe. It will curb your cravings for luxury goods like nothing else!

Mrs. Blandings, I wish I had more colors of the bracelets! And I hope you find the jeans! They are definitely my new favorites!!!

I love the bangles - such great colors. I wish I could wear them. I buy bangles and wear them for about an hour and then I have to take them off because they bug me.
I think I've gotten too old to suffer for fashion. Not that bangles = suffering more of inconvenience for me. You young things have all the fun.

Hi Jackie, Bangles used to bother me too but I've been wearing a lot this summer and I love them. You should give them another chance!

Suzy, so glad you enjoyed the post. Keep me posted if you buy the jeans!

I stumbled to your blog and voila, had a 'deja vu'! I bought very very similar bracelets yesterday - made of brass with enamel work in solid color (and I am in India!)

Love the post! That makes two of us regarding the skinny jeans!

I am a huge fan of fig candles. Have you ever smelled As it Should Be? They are made in the UK and their fig candle is great. If not, I'll bring you one.

Love figs too!! Bought the book, reading it, CAN put it down haha,
changing out my white jeans for the black version, slowly, it's still hot as summer here, but the acorns are dropping and they sound like bricks when they hit my car, great post, just wish you had put more pictures of some of the things because I'm design challenged, like the jacket??? clueless.
hey - I miss you!!

Ronda,

I'm not familiar with that line of candles. I usually buy Diptyque. I'll have to check them out. Thanks for the suggestion.

oh, baby... don't get me started on fashion so early! LOL! With the return of fall I am obsessed with color and texture and all things gilded and shiny. LOL! Those J crew bracelets are just too fabulous.

And Deluxe is just such a good read, isn't it? I adore it!

Ok, I'm out the door now, going down to B&N to get Deluxe! The wool has long been pulled away my eyes on the so called "luxury market"; but I can't wait to read about how those darn Hermes bags are made!

p.s. speaking of Hermes, love the Hermes-inspired JC Crew bracelets! *smile*

Sarah,

The book will make you want to buy Hermes after you read the care and craft that go into making them but never again look at Louis Vuitton or any other LVMH brand.

Well..thanks for the info on the new Citizen Jeans. Maybe finally a pair of jeans that will not leave you totally exposed at the mid-drift when you sit down. And a good thing to remember - when you try on jeans always sit down in the fitting room to see what they do.

If anyone is interested I did a post on this book. It was a full page article from the National Post Newspaper. You can read it here: http://patriciagrayinc.blogspot.com/2007/08/labels-logos-when-masses-can-afford.html

I still don't have a copy of this book. But I should be receiving it soon. It might be interesting to do a Book Club on this one like Style Court did for the Florence Broadhurst book.
