Madison Avenue Collection

My prayers have finally been answered. A J. Crew store is set to open on the Upper East Side. Of course, they couldn't just open a regular store on Third Avenue like everyone else. Instead it will be J. Crew Collection store on Madison Avenue and 79th Street. But I'll take what I can get. Now if they would just get rid of that Critter crap, I'd be really happy!

Oh my goodness! Those super lightweight cardigans! Where can I find one (not on their website, apparently)? I am always in search of lightweight cardigans and they are surprisingly difficult to find...

what's "Critter crap"??? i'm not usually a JCrew kinda gal, (little too preppy for me) but I love this line... the knee socks and heels are all me and the pencil skirt in the last shot will be mine.

there are far better things to pray to and for.

Anonymous - Did you look for the cardigans under Collection online? If they aren't available now, they probably will be a little later.

Ivy, One good thing about NYC is the great stores!

Suzy, Just one more reason to plan a trip to NYC!

Hadi, thanks...I think.

Lissa, They used to have "critters" bedazzed on stuff and as buttons. Very weird. I love the sophisticated Collection items though.

Anonymous #2 - Lighten Up! It's a figure of speach and I do pray about a lot of things daily! Why don't you get a life and stop leaving dumb comments on blogs.

It's about time someone spoke up about the critter crap! Love those patent belts. And everything else.

Oh, and Anon #2, SHUT IT.

Unfortunately, the use of the word "pray" and especially the irreverent "Oh my God!" is often uttered by people who have no concept of these things. As this is a blog for visual things, I guess it is better not to enter such discussions and to "get a life" as the chic one recommends.

SGM, I've missed you! Thanks for stopping by!

Karen - Obviously, a blog is a frivilous thing to have and I hate it when people try to get "deep" on it and make me feel guilty for the things in life that give me pleasure and also make up my work life. To each his own. I leave religion and politics out of it since they have no place here and no one needs to know what I pray about outside the blog. I just wish everyone would lighten up sometimes.

And if Anonymous #2 is so holier than thou, why are they reading and commenting on a blog and not saving the world?!

So jealous. The fall collection is fabulous.

Very nice...where do you like for men's clothes this season?

Habitually Chic said...

Stacy - You can always get it online!

DC Lawyer - I'm assuming you are a lawyer by your name so you might need conservative men's clothing. If so, I always think Brooks Brothers is the place to go. There ads for fall look very chic!

Also, if you want to plan a trip to NYC soon, the Barney's Warehouse sale has amazing deals on men's suits, shirts and ties. I used to go very year with my ex-boyfriend and was amazed at the selection. And it is clean and orderly unlike the women's section!

Many thanks - Brooks Brothers is my usual standby for shirts, ties and accessories (it's J Press for suits though), while a trip to New York means a visit to Paul Stuart.

I'm pretty good for work clothes and truly casual wear (a lot of LL Bean on the weekends)- it's the in-between I struggle with.

Also, the bamboo hangers from justhangers.com just arrived, and I can give them a thumbs up, esp. given the fairly low prices.
