A Tale of Two Homes

I had never heard of Stephen Elrod, the Creative Director of Lee Jofa, until recently but then he seemed to be popping up everywhere! His beach house was featured in the June/July 2008 issue of Domino and then his New York apartment was published in the September 2008 issue of Traditional Home. I have been buying and enjoying Traditional Home lately since there aren't that many shelter magazines left! Anyway, as I've stated before, I love to see how people decorate multiple homes and it seems that Mr. Elrod has done a lovely job with both!

I'll fill in the details later but I am off to The Bachelor Pad to work on some things and then to prepare for an installation on work project on Thursday. Ciao for now!

Beautiful! There are so many wonderful details. I love that his home feels collected, yet very edited. The lighting, use of color, mix of textures, and details, like the monograms are fabulous!

I love the office or whatever the space is with the James Dean photo and brown walls. My living room ended up looking similar (still looking for the right b/w photos). I love your blog and cannot wait to see Bachelor Pad Finale!

I loved the spread on his beach house - thanks for the sneak peak into his main residence. It's very chic indeed!

Funny, I have subs to both those magazines and didn't make the connection... sometimes I wonder how close attention I'm paying. And then I realize that I've got three munchkins that I pay most of my attention to. See, this is why my blog is not a design blog. Thanks for sharing!

Very clever use of fabrics with geometrical pattern on cushions, bedhead.
Love it

I had torn both projects out for my clipping files LOL. They're just so liveable and beautiful!

Thank you so much for sharing, I had seen the beach house in Domino, but missed the NY apt. It is incredibly livable. I am already plotting which concepts I can incorporate into my own space.

that explains why he has such gorgeous sofas. love that pea-green, nailhead yummy one. think that last headboard was from Pottery Barn? what a great idea covering it. i'll have to 'steal' that idea sometime.
