Tibi Time

Someone left a comment once to "get back to design" when I posted about fashion but the point of my blog has always been illustrate that art, design and fashion are all intertwined. No one is this more evident than in the home of fashion designer Amy Smilovic who decorated her home in Greenwich, Connecticut, with the same bright colors and fabrics from her Tibi clothing line. Not only was she inspired by her own collections but by other fashion houses including Marni and Chloé. The project also led to a line of rug and a line of wallpaper at Flavor Paper. As she found out, you don't always have to stick to the decorating "rules" which always leads to the most exciting interiors.

I'm with you! Whether the subject is food, fashion, interiors or gardens, they all offer the same thing: unlimited opportunities for creativity, design and inspiration. Too much of one subject, makes us all dull boys and girls.

I love the glass table. Feels like the vases are floating. Do you know what type of table is that?

Thanks for sharing.

I love the yellow and gray combination, they are the exact opposite of each other and really complement one another. Such a fresh and happy space - I don't know how one could ever have a bad day living here! Thanks for the great posting!

Don't you think she has a tiny bit of Diamond Baratta going on?
But in a good way.

As the article notes that you referenced here, Amy did this in collaboration with a very talented decorator named Bruce Shostak, who's website is worth checking out: http://shostakstyle.com/
They had a great time doing it and had a terrific working relationship.

I adore the multi-disciplinary approach to your blog, but I seriously appreciate that your entries keep away from politics! Yay, you!
