At Home at Sarlo

I love stores that look like homes. I think it makes it so much easier to picture how something would look in a room which is especially helpful for non-designers. They also look like places you would want to hang out in all day and Gabriella Sarlo's shop/showroom Sarlo is no different. The space was co-designed by Stephen Shubel who I featured last week and Sarlo represents his French antiques, as well as new furniture from Pieter Porters and Astier de Villatte among others. Gabriella is also friends with interior designer Grant K. Gibson so it seems that all the talented designers in San Francisco know each other. I definitely can't wait to plan a trip to visit them all. And if the weather in New York doesn't warm up soon, I might just be joining them for good!

I LOVED this post... I am even going to say that these are perhaps my favorite images you've posted yet.. I adore the black and white striped cushions on the first pictures... and the pink fabric on the chairs by the desk are just wonderful... I am absolutely looking at those images again as soon as I post this comment! ;) Also, I understand completely what you mean about the cold weather.. I am just a few states away in WV and we had an ice storm last night.. I was unable to get to work this morning and I have a four wheel drive! Thank goodness I was stocked up on coffee an movies.. ;)

I enjoy stores that look like homes too - even a little bit of scattered books makes it better!

So glad you did this post. Gaby's showroom is one of the most beautiful here in San Francisco. Upon entering, you just want to cozy up and move it. You should really come and visit. It will take your breath away!
