I'm Back Y'all!

I'm back from visiting Hickory Chair in North Carolina and I had a great time! If anyone has the opportunity to tour their factories, you should jump at the chance! It was such a great learning experience! I have lots of information and photos to share but my computer is being a little temperamental right now. Could be due to the hundreds of photos I just tried to download! So check back soon for more in depth posts. Although, you may have to wait until I work off some of the delicious Southern food in which I indulged. All I have to say is that it's a good thing we don't have a Bojangles in New York!

Bojangles does make a mean biscuit!! I consumed a lot of Bojangles biscuits (not to mention the sweet tea and macaroni and cheese) when I was expecting my twins! Can't wait to hear all about your trip ...

Bojangles. No, Sugar, that's not Southern food. Ick. Come on to Charleston and we'll show you how it's done!

Your comment about Bojangles made me chuckle this morning! A friend of mine from Charleston living in NYC always complains how he misses Bojangles and Chick-fil-A. Glad you enjoyed your trip and can't wait to see pics. We're hoping to go in the fall.

Rebecca June - I enjoyed it all! It was just as much about the employees and the way the company is run as it was about the furniture and fabrics. I can't wait to sit down and write it all up! You should definitely go!

A Life More Fabulous - I took so many photos that it will take me a little while to go through them all!

TZD - yes! I can see how the biscuits could be addicting!

Royal Apothic - thanks! I'm working on them!

Alicia - thanks! It's good to be back in my own bed!

Blushing Hostess - I have to clarify that Hickory Chair fed us wonderful catered lunches and dinners with fabulous Southern favorites but I did have a biscuit from Bojangles that was to die for!

Francine - it's a chain of biscuit places. I went to the one in the airport so it's not fancy!

PSIStudio - I grew up with Chick-fil-A so I understand! I heard a rumor that there is one located at NYC somewhere. Maybe your friend and I need to get together and find it! Except that I'm on a serious diet now! Are you going to Hickory Chair in the fall or to the High Point Market? I think I might be at market so maybe I will see you there!

Okay, being a NC girl who grew up in Greensboro I love Bojangles - however if you are going to Market hit the Biscuitville in High Point. It's a very local to central NC chain that only does biscuits and is open only until 2:30pm. Their biscuits are from Heaven! I miss those and Stamey's BBQ (in Greensboro) more than anything. All this talk of Market and such is bringing back such memories of my residential days (I'm a textile designer). I'm surprised I miss it sometimes. Can't wait to see your posts!!

What a treat! I am sure the visit was fascinating and informative!! Cannot wait to see more pictures. And of course, love the "y'all" that stuck with you all the way back to NYC!

If that one picture is an indication of what Hickory Chair is all about now, it's a far cry from the black and brown colonial stuff that I know them for. Very pretty furnishings in that pic.

Love the "ya'll" --there is nothing like Southern Hospitality and food. I lived in NC (college) for four super years and once in a while a ya'll slips out. Glad that you are back.

So glad you made it back safely - I can't wait to hear more about your trip! Any hot menfolk? lol
And I know where the one chic-fil-a in DC is hidden, on the campus of GWU foodcourt! LOL

LOL about Bojangles (they do make a mean sweet tea). Also laughing at Blushing Hostess's comment ("No, Sugar) -- so Southern! Makes me think of home.

The HIckory Chair people are the best and their collection is top notch - clean lines, great delivery, varied assortment and as a designer, you never have to worry. Thanks for the peak into the showroom.
