Christmas in the West Village

I had a fabulous lunch at Cafe Cluny yesterday with interior designer Courtney Giles and gallery owner Emily Amy who are in town from Atlanta for a few days of shopping. Afterward, I took a walk around the West Village to check out the holiday decorations. The neighborhood is full of beautiful brownstones and their owners who went all out this year but even the most humble of homes were dressed up with festive wreathes and greenery. Although, some of them maybe should have taken down their pumpkins first! Happy Holidays!

Very warm and inviting. Thank you for photos of my favorite neighborhood, thus making me long for New York. I love the grouping of trees on the stoop. What a perfect way of communicating "Please use the other door. Thank you!"

Thanks for the photos, Heather. The West Village has such a quiet neighbourhood atmosphere, especially at this time of year, far away from the crowds on Fifth Avenue. I especially love the teal blue doorway - the colour adds an extra splash of personality to the exterior.

Oh, more and more I am missing the city, although I rarely spent my winter there (I found it entirely too cold and gray for my liking), I always came back during the holidays. Nothing compares to Christmas in New York City! Thanks for sharing.

Best,
Jaime

So beautiful! I love the Village. I think it's the only place in NYC I'd ever want to live.

That house with the 10 trees is crazy -so over the top -I love it!I love when everyone gets inthe spirit :-) Last nightI was noticing that every house and apt in my neighborhood had a tree in the window!

Wow, are those trees all going inside? I hope so so they can get in the front door! Lovely images Heather!

Most of those are SO tasteful! Did you pick out the best ones, or were does these homes set the tone for the rest of the neighbourhood? Beautiful!!!

So glad you all enjoyed the holiday tour of the West Village. It was about 20 degrees Saturday so I only made it to a few streets around Cafe Cluny. The house with the trees on the stairs uses the other door since they own two of the brownstones so no worries about people trying to get past them! I am going to try to hit the Upper East Side next when I have time!
