The Other Editor: Viviana Volpicella

While I appreciate Anna Dello Russo's over the top outfits during fashion week, she works for Vogue Nippon after all, it's her fashion assistant's style that I really admire. Viviana Volpicella makes even a simple outfit of pants and a blouse look chic and stylish. Then again, you could probably put her in a paper bag and she'd still look just as chic and stylish because she is Italian and that's what they do. But it's got to be that great smile that makes me like her so much. There is nothing worse than a person who takes themselves too seriously. Someone who wears yellow must also have a sunny personality to match! I think once you see her signature style in action, you'll agree with me. Just ignore the ubiquitous cigarette. As I said, she's Italian!

I love the color, the unique style. I don't think I could pull off most of that, but I would like to wear that saffrom blouse with those shorts some day.

Do you ever visit the satoralist? She is in Italy and has been posting photos of stylish dressed italians.

I am looking at my closet in a whole new way. Grazie!!

Okay -- just noticed the credit to the Sartorialist -- should have known you would be in the know!!
Of course I meant saffroN, I was distracted. I am posting a South of France saffron soup soon and have been taking so many photos of saffron! Now I must choose one!

Good observation about someone not taking themselves too seriously if they're wearing yellow. I never have thought of it like that. Happy Monday!

What an inspired and stylish woman. I think the key here is that she doesn't look as if she's trying at all. It's all innate.

Thanks for introducing me to her! This is my kind of style. So effortless yet so chic. Basic pieces that look fab. Her gorgeous hair and tanned skin don't hurt, also... I am saving all these images for inspiration!

Love her fearless sense of color! The two years I spent in Switzerland we were just 20 minutes from Lake Como and less than an hour from Milan. We jumped on the train to shop and people watch in the Italian fashion capital. The innate sense of style in the women there is like nothing I've ever seen before!

I have never heard of her until now, but I love her style... it seems so obtainable even if I'm more likely to shop at Target than Hermes!

No heavy over the shoulder handbag chocked full of everything but the kitchen sink for this girl on the go- it is always a colorful clutch. Mmmm...wonder what essentials she carries in it?
Good post!

Some really great, chic outfits and so much style. I mean, just how she wears that yellow shirt--so much personality.

OK, I, like everyone else, am in love with the ochre pin-tuck pleated blouse she is wearing! I think it is your duty, Heather, to take care of us and find out where we may purchase said blouse. Even though I have neither brunette hair or olive skin, I would still feel oh-so-Ciao-Baby if only that were hanging in my closet :)

She is quickly becoming one of my style icons. Because of that last picture I had the confidence to break out my bright yellow cords and wear them this week. :)
