Petrol

Many years ago, I bought a fabulous pair of Anya Hindmarch shoes in London and the color was called Petrol. The color is a blue/green/turquoise and the name comes from the word for gasoline in the UK. It seems rather fitting then that the British couple, Christopher and Suzanne Sharp, who own The Rug Company should have petrol coloured walls in their London home. To see more, pick up the March 2010 issue of Vogue or check it out online at Vogue.com. Cheers!

It's funny because I could picture the color of the shoe as soon as you revealed the name. Very creative and PERFECT for that shade. Enjoy your new kicks!

What a beautiful color. And love the balance in the space of the bookcase on left with graphic art on right.

I have a handbag (Coach) that I immediately purchased when I saw it an ad - same great color! I really love that deep shade. Now painting an upstairs sitting room/office in that color with the fireplace and trim staying white. I will now call the room the "petrol-painted room!"

I love this room--so many books and energy. Needless to say, "Petrol" makes the room over-the-top.

I had "petrol" colored walls in my first apartment and they didn't look NEARLY this chic. Probably because of the futon and other college themed decor.

Love its similarity to teal, one of my all time favorite colors. This is cool too.
