Chic in Sag Harbor: Paul Rafftery

I'm not the only who is smitten with Sag Harbor. Artist Paul Rafferty, who currently has a solo show at the Grenning Gallery, spends time painting plein air on the East End and has captured the beauty of the beach as well as everyday life around town. The small studies are taken back to his studio in the South of France where they are turned into larger works. Check out his website for a look at his European paintings. I wish I could afford them all!

I LOVE these paintings. The way Rafferty has captured the light; the interactions of the subjects. Even the studies are amazing. Thanks for highlighting this artist. mary

These paintings are truly lovely. Paul Rafferty manages to convey a feeling, or a mood, which is difficult to capture. Though I've never been to SAG Harbor, these paintings make me feel as though I have.

These east end landscapes are absolutely stunning. He really captures the spirit of the east end in his work. It really makes me yearn for summer. So glad to be headed out east for the weekend!

I LOVE your blog! Although these pictures are of Sag Harbor--some of them remind me of the unspoiled beaches of Lake Michigan I grew up visiting every summer. Thanks for another great post.

These are inspired! Love the way he captures the moment, both with his subject(s) and the lighting. I could look at these all day.

Thank you for featuring my work Heather I'm flattered and for all the kind comments on my work.
I was looking for a studio to buy in the Hamptons and came upon your blog.
It is a beautiful part of the world to paint and I'm sure to live in, the quality of the light is unique and the community is strong.
It's a privilege to visit and I'm proud to show at the Grenning.
Paul.
