Grace is Good

It was reported by WWD last week that Vogue Creative Director Grace Coddington is hard at work on her autobiography.  She will be helped with this task by former Men's Vogue editor in chief Jay Fielden.  “We’re just starting, and I think it’s going to be a really fun project,” she told WWD, adding: “I’m hoping it’s going to be very rich in fashion history. It’s more than just about me.”  Before she was an editor, Coddington was a model who was shot by some legendary lensmen including Lord Snowdon and Helmet Newton.  I'm sure there are some good stories from those years as well as her time at both British and American Vogue.  It was The September Issue that introduced us to this amazing woman who I like to think of as the moral compass of the movie and I can't wait to read about her inspiring life in her own words.

Wonderful news, I would love to read this book when it is published. You are absolutely right, she was the moral compass in the September Issue. Which reminds me, the current issue is a hefty one and I am loving it.

Miss Coddington is beautiful inside and out...so glad that "September Issue" brought her front and center.

Like you, I can't wait for the stories.

Yeah, she made the "September Issue" for me. And I understand and instantly recognize her work now.

She's the cool Aunt you wish you had.

I can't wait to read it. Grace deserves all of the admiration that comes her way, while Anna is the boss, Grace is the true talent behind that magazine. Her layouts are always the most incredible. I've had a subscription to Vogue since it was run by Grace Mirabella in the 80's and I'll continue to read it for years to come.

Just read somewhere that Barneys of New York commissioned some scary replicas of fashion mavens Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington.
The dolls will be auctioned off with the proceeds going to The New York City Aids Fund.
Is that being famous or what?

what I really love.........besides her major talent and ability to visualize everything.......is her refusal to alter her face.

She is the penultimate beautiful face aging gracefully and beautifully. This is a courageous thing in our age. And she is absolutely gorgeous.........(as she has always been) and she is an example of aging as a beautiful woman.

Bravo to her. She is totally gorgeous to me.

Others; who have chosen plastic surgery have just become "freaks" before my eyes......and it saddens me.
Not to mention, my friends.......I have not seen for 10 years.......I do not recognize.......until they speak.
They have lost their smiles; their faces are altered beyond recognition........it breaks my heart.
Their lips become "trout lips"

and most of them do not see how "freakish" and ugly that makes their faces look.
It makes me sad.

I am very proud of Grace!

as an example of aging gracefuly.......as well as being a total creative genius at Vogue.....for a million years!

BRAVO!!!

Penelope
