Bergdorf Goodman Holiday Windows 2010

My favorite part of living in New York is being able to experience the Bergdorf Goodman holiday windows in person.  Each year, the senior director of visual presentation, David Hoey, and his staff create windows full of pure fantasy and over the top glamour.  The theme this season is traveling which includes a winged horse and flying carriage, as well as a silver space ship, listing boat, and scarlet train.  You really have to stand in front of them and marvel at all the details.  I think my favorite part is the moving backdrop behind the train.  It's simply amazing that they can create such splendor in such small spaces.  The windows are titled "Wish You Were Here" and I wish all of you were here.  For those who can't be, these photos are my holiday gift to you!  Enjoy!

I have been waiting for these windows! Thank you, Heather. The BG windows are an annual feast for our eyes & inspiration forever. I had received an email from them saying the theme would be flight & absolutely could not conceive how they would achieve this. But, WOW, did they ever! xx's

I haven't had a chance to come in yet to see the windows so thank you for this terrific preview. And I must say you did a great job of minimizing the glare through the glass - very tough to do!

Ihave always wanted to visit NY at this time of year and see these windows for myself but this is the next best thing. These window dressers have amazingly creative minds, dont they? Thanks so much for my first Christmas gift of the season.

Thank You Heather- These windows are BEYOND!!
They actually made my heart skip a beat. Steam Punk meets The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe!
What wonderful photographs you took- no glare or reflections on the glassfronts- How do you do that?! I am sad that I will not be able to see them in person this season. Feeling ever so slightly provincial here in my little town right now, after seeing this. :(
I might have to ask my son (in NY) to go stand in front of them for awhile just to have one member of the family soak in all that beauty and creativity!

Thanks for the inspiration!
