Neutral Territory

I really think that I'm going to have to own several homes in order to satisfy my love of different decorating styles.  I usually like some color in my interiors but sometimes I see a neutral scheme that just looks so serene and calming that I can't help but love it too.  You may have thought these photos were from a home in France but they are actually from townhouse in Istanbul, Turkey. Former top fashion designer Asli Tunca and her artist and decorator husband Carl Vercauteren own this amazing space also named Asli Tunca.  It serves as both their home and showroom and is filled with antiques and pieces they have designed.  Turkey has been on my must visit list for a while but after seeing these photos, I think it's just jumped to the top of the list.  Enjoy!

I agree with you! Usually I'm a fan of colour in a space, but sometimes a neutral look really is lovely!

Some rooms are too bare, but the 4th picture makes me dream! What a fabulous combination of texture and materials.

I hope you're having a great day so far, Heather.

Oooh Heather;
This one is a favorite, that palate
is a favorite of mine!
Lovely and really peaceful. The entrance into the courtyard is brilliant. I would like to have my morning coffee there, also my afternoon tea!

I know how you feel - I frequently feel that I would need multiple dwellings to satisfy all the different decorating styles I like. And also agree with you about Turkey - have wanted to go for years!! This is stunning!

This has to be my dream home (minus the orange branches on the bed - I see what they're doing but it jars a bit with the rest of the room..) The huge curved window and freestanding bath are to die for!
Also, you can never have too many fauteuils in my opinion..

The white bedroom with the red branch-like bed frame and post is absolutely eye-catching. It looks like something out of a fairytale or fantasy land.
We have some tips to get this same eye-popping look on our blog. Check us out!

This house is so gorgeous and sophisticated I'm speechless...
Other stunning neutral interiors were profiled in Vogue, I think ten years ago, at designer Luisa Beccaria's castle in Sicily.
