Minnie in Malibu

I wish I had seen the APT by LSD on feature on Minnie Mortimer's Malibu home earlier.  Since she's an avid surfer, it would have made the perfect follow up to my Surf's Up post.  I'm waiting for new bookcases to arrive so I was very taken with all her fabulous built-ins.  There is also nothing I love more than seeing what's on someone else's shelves.  The bookcases will flank my sofa so that means I can't hang the art until after they arrive.  I can't wait to create a new gallery wall like Minnie's.  I love her mix of artwork and photography.  Another example of buy what you love and you'll find a place for it.

I adore these vignette shots - they are so beautiful! And the bookshelves put a huge smile on my face - I know how hard bookshelves are to do well! Great spread!

I love the last photo - that cool green dress and the black furry thing and a Goyard (?) bag all with that pretty robin's egg blue wall? This is a closet that would be fun to dig through!

So cute and comfortable looking! I've lately been obsessed with bookshelves that house actual books - love the way these are set up.

This week, just bought a nearly identical oak table with lion's paw feet as was in the pic of this dining room. Oh, I feel so chic now! And I was trying to explain to hubby how you take something like that and put it with funky modern chairs and it looks cool. So pleased to see that image and love the grey book cases too!

Found mine under a huge pile of dusty junk in a great big dairy barn out in the country - so it was a real junkyard gem!
