Marvelous in Madrid

I picked up an old issue of Nuevo Estilo magazine while I was in Soho yesterday due to this spread.  The home is the Madrid apartment of interior designer Raúl Martins. It's filled with everything I love, shades of white and blue with pops of black, a mix of gilt and chrome, classical elements, and modern pieces.  If you know Spanish, you can read the article online.  But if you don't, I think the photos speak for themselves.

Feels sophisticated. Makes me want big green fronds in vases.

It kind of reminds me of a kinder, gentler Jennifer Ferreira. Lovely!

Hi Heather. I love this post--after living in Madrid for seven years, Spanish contemporary design is what makes me hummmmm. And I was really surprised to see the smaller version of the brass and chrome coffee table that I bought in Madrid (and still use) in the 80's to be featured in the second photo--Janen inspired, but Madrid made. There are so many elements in this feature that I have carried in my shop in the past and even now. Thanks for propping up my spirits. Mary

Such a beautiful home to share with us. For me, the addition of warm coloured wood is a must in such a gray and limited palette. Lovely and thank you, Heather!
